Tully Women In Ag

Tully Women in Agriculture invites women across our region to the growHER Long Lunch Wellbeing Initiative - an inspiring afternoon bringing women together to connect, share and learn, while building awareness around wellbeing in our rural communities.

In a region where agriculture underpins our community, ongoing challenges are placing increasing pressure on farming families and those working across the sector. This event creates an opportunity to come together, connect and support one another through meaningful conversation.

The afternoon will feature keynote speaker Mary O’Brien, Founder of Are You Bogged Mate?, a nationally recognised rural mental health advocate. Raised on the land, Mary brings a deep understanding of the challenges facing farming families and rural communities. Mary aims to reduce rural male suicide by breaking down stigma, making blokes feel understood and by providing women with insights into how blokes communicate. Rural communities everywhere continue to lose men to suicide and many more struggle in silence. Mary uses analogies and humour to explain mental health in a way that is relatable and resonates with rural people.

Adding to the afternoon, Georgina Humphries – “The Thriller from Millaa Millaa” – will bring her fast-paced, light-hearted and quirky humour. With a style that is distinctly regional and deeply relatable, Georgina draws on life in North Queensland, diving headfirst into life’s absurdities and finding comedy, chaos and heart in the most unexpected people and places. Her storytelling resonates with local audiences, offering both laughter and a fresh, insightful take on the topics that matter to our communities.

Hosted by Tully Women in Agriculture, this event is proudly led by local women, celebrating the role women play in supporting strong, connected rural communities. At its heart is a belief that investing in the wellbeing and resilience of rural women strengthens the future of our communities.
